About the Author

Thich Nhat Hanh has dedicated his life to the art of mindful living. He teaches that only through living in the present moment can we approach peacefulness — in ourselves and in the world. Born in central Vietnam in 1926, Thich Nhat Hanh witnessed the strife of the Vietnam Conflict. He lives in Plum Village in France, a Buddhist community in exile that he founded in 1982, where he continues to write, garden, and lead retreats. Nicholas Kirsten-Honshin's art and poetry reflect his experience with ancient Eastern spiritual practices, Christianity, Tibetan Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, and ancient Mesoamerican cultures. His work — a mythic amalgamation of age-old healing practices and present-day trends in spirituality, science, and nature — results in a true fusion of East and West and inspires people worldwide to practice compassion, love, kindness, and the joy of living in the present moment. For four decades, Honshin has been showing his artwork throughout the Western United States in the Mirrors of the Moon exhibitions. Honshin and his wife, Krystal, own and operate the Gallery of the Ascending Spirit and the Gallery of Wholeness, Harmony & Radiance in Tlaquepaque Arts Village in Sedona, Arizona.

I've been using these Thich Nhat Hanh mini wall calendars for several years now. I love having it on my refrigerator door and seeing the beautiful paintings and poetry every day. The calendar boxes have plenty of room for notations. The calendar lists holidays from many religions, as well as phases of the moon.

This is a lovely calendar! The pictures are simple and expressive. The thought for the month is provocative and practical: such as noticing your breath in and out. Every month has new art and a new saying. The squares are big enough for notes, and the number of the days is large enough to see across the room. I'm not Buddhist, but I love the thought for the month. Everyone can benefit from a little more mindfulness.

This is a beautiful calendar. It would make a great gift. The artwork is so pretty! Another great feature is that international/interfaith holidays are marked throughout. Even though it seems minor, I like having the month before and month after appear on each month's page for quick reference. This calendar has that, too. I plan to get this calendar every year now.

lovely book with true wisdom from the great spiritual TNH, a pity delivered very late but it did finally at least make it to it's destination before Christmas, so that is good

I buy a Thich Nhat Hanh calendar every year. The pictures are beautiful and the sayings are inspiring. The calendar is just the right size with nice bigs squares to mark the day.

I've been getting this calendar for a few years now and enjoy it very much. Inspirational, mindful, excellent illustrations. I've now been getting them as gifts as well.
