I think that the author of this book is trying to tell you what many Muslims who knows their religion are trying to explained for 1400 years, that Islam is the Religion of all prophets of God if you believe in him, even if don't read it and at least you will have some positive information's which are in the Bible and in the Qur'an and stop the competition about who is the greater between the Prophets and concentrate on the prophet's messages ( all prophets said that God is the Greater in Hebrew Alah, Ale, in Islam Allah which means God in English,if you read the Arabic Bible you will find He's name to Elah meaning God In the Qur'an Allah meaning the God, so tell the difference if you'r an honest person.

I read Martins Lings book on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and really enjoyed it. So I bought more of his books. Very good author.

Great reference book. Martin Lings is was one of the best Islamic authors. The book was received in perfect condition and on time.

Martin Lings seems to have extracted peices from his other book "Mohammed". If one has read that, then this is a kind of repitition. Else read this as it is a good recount of the history of the Kaaba, together with dates and other stories of interest. Good for those who are looking for information in a nutshell.

Let down not enough historical information that I expected,yet the writer has several good books to his credits.

This is a great book if you don't have time to surf NERO website or Help files for simple and intermediate level questions. Since Nero program is compilation of several programs, this book kinda put all the programs usage at one place. I have Nero 8 and still got this book as there is not much differece besides interface enhancement between version 7 & 8. I would highly recommend this book to avoid disappointment & confusion in DVD/CD burning process that Nero is famous for!

This book is a good guide for the Nero product. Although written specifically for Nero 7, not that much has changed up to the current version. It is a good basic guide so long as you recognize there may be minor differences in how things are done. It is the latest guide book for Nero that I could find. Someone needs to write a new one.

If you need help about a product the NERO 7 study book has the needed information regarding the application process of whatever NERO product you are using. Good instructions to study and understand. Illustrations abound with the format to keep it Clear and Easy.

If you have no clue on how to use Nero, and somehow managed to get it cleanly installed (in itself not a fun process) then this book will re-state the obvious. All in all, given the horror of trying to install Nero 7, if you might have benefited from this book, you'll never get far enough on the software install to make the book worth buying.

The book of Nero 7 is just like a good piece of cake: Very good to read and excellent to work with. For all of you that want fast, concise and pratical approach of all the topics described, that's the book. Highly reccommended

I have to admit I'm disappointed in this title. I was hoping to get acquainted with the more complex capabilities of this software, but the book doesn't go any further than the free download help files from Nero.The Nero Vision (DVD video burning) material amounts to a little over a dozen pages, with most of the space taken up with screen shots - not really that useful, or, at least, not worth laying out the money for a book. Even the part of "trimming" a video file was wrong based on what I found by trial and error using the real product.If I had it to do over, I'd save my money and pass on this title.

At last, a computer technical book that can actually be understood. One can follow the instructions, step by step, and arrive at the desired results. It is laid out in such a way as to ask the user firstoff what he/she is trying to accomplish, and go from there The software itself is very powerful, with its functions neatly categorized. Further, it appears that there are more than one path to a particular endpoint. The book itself arrived here in record time, and I thought enough of it to purchase a copy for my daughter as a gift, which she too loves!

In a series of scientific studies, the text illustrates how unexpected behavior of large ecological and economic systems leads to unanticipated results from man's attempts at manipulating them. As the back cover states, "Creating institutions to meet the challenge of sustainability is arguably the most important task confronting society." This book offers suggestions for doing just that, using methods from environmental systems analysis to illustrate the complexities involved in dealing with hierarchies of systems that range from biological subsystems through ecosystems and beyond, to social, political, and economic systems that transcend arbitrary boundaries set by those intent on maintaining outmoded fiefdoms. The logical conclusions are that we are a single people inhabiting a single planet, and the sooner we recognize that fact and modify our behavior accordingly, the sooner we will mitigate the many looming problems associated with natural resource exploitation; fossil fuel development, depletion, and pollution; industrialization of agriculture; and the increasing population that's driving it all.

Fantastic book. Covers the concept of resilience and system transformation from economic, social and ecological perspectives. I keep going back to it to get a deeper understanding of the concepts.

It's a leap forward in the integration of natural and social sciences.

While the book reviews interesting insights about the stability of ecosystems and emphasizes that most preconceptions are invalid in one or another circumstance, it pushes a preconception of its own that is so abstract as to be nearly meaningless. Phenomena are forced into phases of a model even when the fit is unreasonable. The book reads as though the editors fell in love with a nice idea - and a pretty diagram - and proceeded to ignore subtleties and refinements that, if incorporated, could have had real value. One significant flaw is that the wasteland of a devastated ecosystem, such as an overgrazed scrubland, is conceived as the 'same' ecosystem as the mature one (rainforest) that preceded it, and that a 'cycle' will bring it back around - and this in contradiction to the book's own opening chapter. Some redemption is achieved by authors of later chapters, who do not fall into these traps.

The work of Gunderson and Holling is groundbreaking and well worth reading. It sheds considerable light on the similarities between social and ecological systems.

I weighed into this book on the basis of an article I read about Panarchy. Some of the text is too technical for me (all the chapters are written by academics) so I confess that I skipped some parts. Nonetheless for anyone who is trying to grasp how change happens in our world, this is an outstanding source for understanding the complexities and inter-relatedness of everything.

This book provides a beautiful framework for understanding that which is living.

First of all I would like to clarify that the low rating has nothing to do with the content of the book. From my point of view it is an inspiring and outstanding book, that I would strongly recommend to everybody interested in environment and natural resource issues.The reason for my negative review is the condition in which the book arrived. I recieved a misprint, where the cover is upside down. That alone would not bother me. The main problem is, that the book is also bound in the wrong direction, forcing the reader to read it from the right to the left, which felt really unnatural during the lecture.I would have send the book back again, but since I am not living in the US and a familiy member brought it all the way to Peru, unfortunately this has not been an option. I am not sure if all copies of the book sold by Amazon are in the same condition, but if they are, I think this should be mentioned in the product description.

I was hoping to see more "standard" recipes adapted to the food processor, and some guidelines for adapting your favorite recipes. A lot of the recipes are things I would never make (Indian Spiced Chickpea and collard green stew, Shrimp tacos with pumpkin seed and spinach pesto). Many of the recipes have 10+ ingredients which I generally will avoid, as I won't normally have everything on hand. Also a lot of recipes call for fresh herbs which are great if you have and can get them, but an option for dried herbs would be nice to include

The Food Processor Family Cookbook: I got this book to encourage me to use my new Hamilton Beach 12-cup food processor more than I did my old one. I was surprised to find a number of recipes I wanted to try, and how relatively straightforward the directions and ingredients were, nothing too exotic. I use crushed chilis instead of fresh jalapeno and do some other substitutions of ingredients I don't normally keep on hand. The author uses the food processor when it makes sense, rather than going out of the way to use it all the time. I'm even using my mini-processor more.

Mostly sauces

made the beet 7 apple slaw...yum got better each day...I like that it is a healthier version food processor recipes. Wish there were more colorpictures with each recipes, but know that would increase the cost of the book. Can't wait to try more recipes from this book.

Updating this book, prepared in the summer and fall of 2017, reflects a 20-year cycle of test changes that were incorporated when the first edition of the Barron's AP U.S. Government and Politics was published. The 11th edition has more changes than any previous edition. This edition incorporates and reflects the new AP U.S. Government and Politics curriculum that has been implemented in the 2018-2019 school year. This edition also reflects the implementation of a brand new test that has major structural changes. For example, there are 55 multiple choice questions and each question has only four choices. There are four different types of free response questions, one of which will be an "argumentation" essay.

In a nutshell, buy this prep book if your goal is a very detailed review of content. If you have actually read your spine text, mastered all its terms, and done well on course quizzes and midterms, then you could likely purchase a skinnier volume than Barron's and do fine. This is too much for a weekend of review, but IS well suited for use over several weeks, a semester, or a year. What Barron's does well -- better than REA and MyMaxScore -- is to provide a comprehensive but focused review. I like the short review questions at the end of each section. Each of these three prep books for US GOPO has fairly poor "model" or practice exams; it's hard to say which is worst on that score. For this reason, I don't advise spending more for the Barron's edition that contains more model exams.While I would purchase this book again, it's rather like the whole-wheat toast shown next to the sugar-laden cereal in those old TV advertisements. Useful, but most definitely not enough on its own. Remember "part of this healthy breakfast?" You'll want the fresh fruit and milk to really do the job.To score a "five" on this exam, do these six things. (1) Actually read (gasp!) your spine textbook and master all of its terms. I recommend creating your own notecards by hand, preferably paper. Make your brain and fingers do the work so you "own" those definitions and can then apply them. (Buying ready-made notecards or flipping through other people's work on a screen will not weave the neural connections you want. It's got to be YOU.) Set aside a few minutes each week to review notecards cumulatively. No review means you've merely marked up a pack of cards. If you need to skimp on any textbook area, make that historical detail. Some GOPO books begin with and dwell lovingly on colonial history, but you need to focus on constitutional underpinnings in that section: Articles of Confederation versus the Constitution, impact of Shays' Rebellion, the Federalist Papers, core political values, and contents of the Constitution. (2) Follow news on Congress, the presidency, and the Supreme Court; and pay attention to their interactions with each other. Note how each branch attempts to limit the others and how it interacts with the bureaucracy and linking institutions such as parties and media. (3) If possible, make good use of actual College Board released exams, available from your AP instructor, so you truly understand the types of questions asked on the exam. The model exams in Barron's do have some value in your review, but like those in other prep books, are a poor reflection of the actual exam. (4) Practice writing answers to released essays with a pen, on lined paper, in the time limits given. If you write very little and have lots of time left over, you are likely not fulfilling the prompts. "Explain" means to tell HOW! (5) Memorize a core list of Supreme Court cases, because this will help you master several areas of the course -- not just the judiciary. Understand how cases relate to incorporation, different judicial philosophies, and linkage institutions. (6) Do use a review book like Barron's (or a competitor) for somewhat different coverage of what you know already; but be sure to read College Board's own "Course Description" document for the final word. Most prep books I've seen have some mistakes regarding the exam.

Great at making the topics simple and easy to understand. Highlights all of the important information you need to know. Clear and concise. Practice exams at the end are helpful and provide great explanations of why the correct answer is correct. I recommend reading a chapter a day for roughly a month before the exam and highlighting the important information as well as taking the mini quizzes at the end of the chapter. Doing so got me a 5 on the exam. Great review book, Barron's in general, has good review books for all of the AP exams. Highly recommend. Good Luck!

My 10th grader is currently study for the AP test to be held in two weeks. There are certain areas that he needs to focus on and this book allows him to target his studying. Each section has a summary of the topic and then review questions with explanations of the answers at the end of the chapter. He was immediately engaged by the book. The mock exams at the back of the book as well as the online tools make this a very valuable study too. Well done.

My son passed the AP test, which was impressive, and not a given.

This book is an excellent supplement for a high school AP Government & Politics course. The information in the guide is written clearly, and it is set up in a format that is logical to follow. The practice questions have been a big help in comprehending the course concepts so far.

Used this for my CSET Social Science test, and it was a huge help. Can't speak to it for the AP test, but Barron's is a great company, so I'd assume it would be even better for that exam.

Extremely useful guide. My daughter will not use any others. It provides all the information needed to get ready for class and AP testing.
